KUIS AI Hiring Procedure

Procedure for Research Faculty hiring: will be coordinated by two faculty members.

Step 1: Initial screening: will be done by the coordinating faculty members

  • High-quality journal/conference publications related to AI/ML/DL.
  • Potential for high impact research (indicators: citations and Google h-index)
  • Ability to bring external funding for research
  • Ability to advise graduate students
  • Strong reference letters

Step 2: Feedback from the Dean: the coordinating faculty will communicate with the Dean about the candidate.

Step 3: Invitation to give a presentation: after the presentation, the coordinating faculty members as well as the other interested AI faculty members will interview with the candidate, all AI faculty members will provide feedback to the coordinating committee and the committee will make a recommendation to the Dean.

 

Procedure for Post-doc hiring: will be coordinated by two faculty members.

Step 1: Initial screening: will be done by the coordinating faculty members

  • At least one high-quality journal/conference publication related to AI/ML/DL.
  • Potential for high impact research (indicators: citations and Google h-index)
  • Ability to bring external funding for research
  • Strong reference letters

Step 2: Feedback from the potential faculty advisor: will send an e-mail to the coordinating faculty members on why this candidate is a good fit for the position.

Step 3: Invitation to give a presentation: after the presentation, the coordinating faculty members, as well as the other interested AI faculty members, will interview with the candidate, all AI faculty members will provide feedback to the coordinating committee and the committee will make a final decision based on those feedbacks.

Procedure for Research Engineer: will be coordinated by two faculty members.

Step 1: Initial screening: will be done by the coordinating faculty members

  • Experience in software development or data science (in particular in AI/ML/DL).
  • Good personal skills: the ability to work in industrial projects and interact with the industrial partners to understand their needs

Step 2: Feedback from the potential faculty supervisor: will send an e-mail to the coordinating faculty members on why this candidate is a good fit for the position.

Step 3: Invitation for an interview: after the interview, interested AI faculty members provide feedback to the coordinating committee and the committee will make a final decision based on those feedbacks.
